For most small businesses and growing brands, ai seo affordable has felt like a contradiction in terms. You know you need to show up in Google. You’re watching ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews become the new front page of the internet. And every agency you speak to quotes €1,000–€2,000 per month before they’ve even seen your site. At Choco Media, we built our SEO and Generative Engine Optimization campaigns specifically to break that pattern — and this post explains exactly how we do it, what each tier includes, and why the math actually works.
This is a post for founders, small marketing teams, and in-house managers who are tired of vague strategy decks and want to understand what it actually takes to rank well in 2026 — both in traditional search and in the AI systems that are increasingly driving discovery. If you’ve wondered whether a €199/month package can genuinely move the needle, keep reading.
If you’re already convinced and want to see the tiers side by side, you can jump straight to our SEO + GEO campaign packages. Otherwise, let’s start with the landscape.
Why ranking in 2026 means ranking in two places
Until recently, SEO meant one thing: showing up in Google’s blue links. That’s still important — Google processes roughly 8.5 billion searches per day, and organic traffic remains one of the highest-converting acquisition channels for most businesses. But something structural has shifted.
AI-powered answer engines are now handling a growing share of informational queries. ChatGPT has over 200 million weekly active users. Perplexity is growing fast, especially among technical audiences. Google’s AI Overviews now appear on the majority of informational searches and are expanding globally. When someone asks “who is the best AI marketing agency in Finland?” or “what does an affordable SEO campaign include?”, they increasingly get an answer synthesised by an AI — not a list of ten blue links.
The mechanisms behind AI citation are different from classic SEO, though they overlap significantly. AI systems tend to pull from sources that are structured clearly, use consistent terminology, have strong entity presence, and demonstrate topical authority across a content cluster. This is what Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) addresses — and it’s built into every Choco campaign from the first month.
What GEO actually means in practice
GEO isn’t a separate service you bolt on top of SEO. It’s a set of structural and editorial choices that help AI systems parse, trust, and cite your content:
- Answer-first writing: lead with the direct answer before expanding, because AI systems extract the clearest statement of a claim
- FAQPage and Article schema markup: structured data that signals to Google and AI crawlers that your content definitively answers a question
- TL;DR blocks: summary sections at the top of long posts that AI systems often lift directly into answers
- Entity consistency: using your brand name, location, and service names consistently across all content so AI can build a coherent model of who you are
- Topical clustering: building multiple related pieces that reinforce each other, rather than isolated posts
We apply all of this in every campaign tier, from Starter upward. The difference between tiers is volume and velocity, not quality of process.
The real cost of traditional agency SEO
We’re not going to pretend that €1,200/month agencies are doing nothing. Many are doing good work. But it’s worth being honest about what that spend typically buys and whether it’s the right model for every business.
A traditional SEO retainer at that price usually includes a dedicated account manager, a monthly strategy call, some combination of technical audits, content production, and link outreach, and a reporting dashboard. The overhead costs of that model — office space, account management hours, pitch decks, tooling subscriptions — are baked into the price. For a €5M/year e-commerce brand with a complex site and aggressive growth targets, that’s probably a fair trade. For a 10-person SaaS company or a regional service business, it often isn’t.
The question isn’t whether expensive SEO can work. It’s whether your business stage and budget justify that structure — or whether a leaner, more focused approach gets you 80% of the outcome at 20% of the cost.
What we’ve found in client work is that the first twelve months of SEO for most small and mid-size businesses is primarily about three things: fixing the technical foundations, building a coherent content cluster around 10–20 target keywords, and earning quality links from relevant sources. None of that requires a €1,200/month overhead structure.
What’s actually in our €199 Starter campaign
Transparency is part of how we operate, so let’s be specific. Our Starter campaign at €199/month includes:
- Monthly SEO audit pulse: we check for crawl errors, page speed regressions, broken links, and indexation issues — a focused checklist with fixes prioritised by impact, not a 40-page deck.
- 2 SEO-optimised blog posts per month: each targeting a specific keyword from your agreed cluster, written in your brand voice, with proper heading structure, internal links, and schema markup.
- GEO optimisation on every post: FAQPage schema, TL;DR blocks, answer-first formatting — the same GEO stack we use on higher tiers.
- Google Search Console monitoring: we track impressions, clicks, and position movement on your target keywords and flag anything that needs attention.
- Monthly one-page report: what moved, what didn’t, what we’re doing next month.
This is a focused, repeatable process. It doesn’t include unlimited revisions, weekly calls, or link building outreach — those come with Growth and Authority tiers. But it builds the content and structural foundation that higher-tier work amplifies. Many clients start here, get traction, and move up when they see results.
What the €349 Growth and €499 Authority tiers add
The Growth campaign at €349/month doubles the content volume to four posts per month and adds active link outreach. We identify relevant sites, draft outreach, and manage the relationship. Link acquisition remains one of the most reliable ranking signals in traditional SEO, and it takes consistent effort over months, not a one-time sprint.
The Authority tier at €499/month is our most comprehensive package:
- 6 SEO + GEO posts per month — enough to build topical depth in a cluster within 6–8 months
- Full technical SEO quarterly: site architecture review, Core Web Vitals optimisation, crawl budget analysis
- Link building: active outreach targeting 4–6 placements per month
- Competitor gap analysis: monthly check on what your top 3 competitors rank for that you don’t
- AI citation monitoring: we check whether your brand appears in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overview responses for your target queries — and adjust strategy when it doesn’t
For most businesses in competitive verticals, the Authority tier is where compound returns appear: content from month 3 still driving traffic in month 18, while new posts continue to expand the cluster. Our AI content creation service is built specifically to make this volume sustainable without sacrificing quality.
Why we lock pricing for 12 months
One question we get often: why a 12-month commitment? The honest answer is that SEO doesn’t work any other way. Content needs time to be indexed, tested, and promoted. Links need time to pass authority. AI systems need consistent topical signals before they start citing your site reliably.
A 3-month SEO engagement produces almost nothing useful. You’ll have some content published, maybe a few technical fixes, but not enough signal for Google to trust you on competitive terms and not enough volume for AI systems to recognise you as an authority. The 12-month structure isn’t a lock-in for our benefit — it’s a prerequisite for the outcome actually happening.
We also price-lock for the year. If we raise prices mid-year, your rate stays fixed until renewal. We think that’s fair, and it lets clients budget reliably.
What we look at before recommending a tier
Before suggesting a campaign tier, we look at:
- Current domain authority and existing content
- Competitive density in your target keyword cluster
- How much content the niche requires to achieve topical authority
- Whether the client has internal capacity to supplement with their own posts
Some businesses are genuinely fine at Starter for 12 months. Others need Growth or Authority from day one or they won’t see meaningful movement. We’ll tell you which before you sign anything. Our SEO service page has more detail on how we approach strategy.
The AI citation gap most businesses are missing
Here’s something we see consistently: businesses that have solid Google rankings but zero presence in AI-generated answers. Someone types “best [service] in [city]” into ChatGPT, gets three recommendations — and the top-ranked local business isn’t one of them.
This gap exists because AI systems don’t pull ranking data from Google. They have their own training data and retrieval mechanisms. Getting into that mix requires the GEO stack described above: structured content, schema markup, topical depth, and consistent entity signals. Classic SEO alone doesn’t get you there.
The practical implication is that businesses starting SEO now have an opportunity that won’t exist in two years: the AI citation landscape is still forming, there are fewer competitors in it, and the structural signals you build now will compound as AI search volumes grow. Waiting is a real cost, even if it’s invisible.
How to know which tier is right for you
The short version:
- Starter (€199/month): working site, low-to-medium competition niche, want consistent SEO fundamentals with GEO built in. Good for: local service businesses, early-stage SaaS, professional services firms.
- Growth (€349/month): want to accelerate content production and add link building. Good for: businesses in moderate competition verticals who have seen some SEO traction and want to compound it.
- Authority (€499/month): competitive vertical, want comprehensive technical coverage, serious about AI citation as well as traditional ranking. Good for: e-commerce, SaaS, agencies, businesses where organic search is a primary acquisition channel.
If you’re unsure, start with Starter. It’s a low-risk way to test whether our process works for your context, and most clients who see results there move up within 6 months.
Why we built this pricing model
We’re a small agency in Rovaniemi. We didn’t build this pricing to compete with the big Helsinki agencies on their terms — we built it because we saw a clear gap in the market. Most businesses that could benefit from SEO and GEO aren’t getting it because the entry price is too high, the minimum commitment is too long, or the process is too opaque.
We can offer this pricing because we use AI in our own production process — research, drafting, schema generation, monitoring. That efficiency passes directly to clients. We’re not cutting corners on quality; we’re cutting overhead. The output is the same as what a much larger team would produce, built by a small team that knows how to use the tools.
We stay small deliberately. We take on a limited number of campaign clients so we can actually do the work properly, not just manage accounts. If we’re full, we’ll tell you.
